Acceptable Use Policy

Safety is core to Curon’s mission and we are committed to building an ecosystem where users can safely interact with and build on top of our products in a harmless, helpful, and honest way. Our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to anyone who uses Curon’s tools and services, and is intended to help our users stay safe and to ensure our products and services are being used responsibly.

If we discover that your usage violates Curon’s policies, we may issue a warning requesting a change in your behavior, adjust the settings of your in-product experience, or suspend your access to our tools and services.

Finally, it’s important to remember that generative models are capable of producing factually inaccurate, harmful, or biased information. Our mission is to make safe AI systems and as we work to meet this goal, we ask that you independently verify our model responses and notify us at patientsafety@curon.ai when our model outputs inaccurate, biased, or harmful content.  

Acceptable Use Policy for Data Providers

As a subscriber providing training data for this medical chatbot (Curon.ai),  you agree to the following terms:

• You will only submit de-identified medical data that does not contain protected health information under HIPAA regulations. This includes removing all patient names, birth dates, contact information, and other identifying details.

• You have obtained any necessary permissions, consents, or releases to share the medical data for training purposes. This includes permission from patients if required by law.

• The medical data you provide comes from your own patients in the course of ethical medical practice. You will not submit data from other sources unless you have the legal rights to provide it.

• You will not include any illegal, unlicensed, copyrighted, defamatory, or libelous content. You will only submit factual medical data relevant for training the chatbot.

• You retain ownership and rights to the data you provide. However, by submitting it, you grant Curon.ai a perpetual license to use the data to train, improve, and operate the chatbot service.

• Curon.ai reserves the right to review, screen, edit, or remove any training data that violates these terms, its privacy policy, or applicable laws. We may suspend or terminate accounts of any data provider who violates these rules.

• You understand that the chatbot will generate its own responses based on patterns in the training data. Curon.ai is not liable for any reliance on or interpretation of the chatbot's responses by end users.

Please ensure the medical data you provide is lawful, ethical, and respectful of patient privacy. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Additional Requirements for Businesses:

If your business is using or deploying our tools and services as part of providing legal, medical, or financial advice to consumers, we ask that you implement the additional safety measures listed below:  

• Human-in-the-loop: Any content that is provided to your consumers must be reviewed by a qualified professional in that field prior to dissemination. Your business is responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of that information.

• Disclosure: you must disclose to your customers that you are using our services to help inform your decisions or recommendations.

Finally, if your business is using or deploying our products as part of an automated service where your external customers or users interact directly with our products, for example chatbots, you must disclose to your users that they are interacting with an AI system rather than a human.
